As many of you might know already, I was bitten by Astronomy bug 2 years ago. Last year I built my 8" Dobsonian telescope and saw the moon and saturn up-close-and-personal. This year i bought by Celestron 9.25" CPC GPS XLT telescope and an 80 mm Celestron Starseeker from Orion. Photography is my hobby, so eventually I have to take photos of whatever I see through the telescope.. So bought a Philips webcam (model SPC900NC/27) and modified it using the mod mentioned in http://home.zonnet.nl/m.m.j.meijer/D_I_Y/spc900nc.htm . Thanks to my good friend Diwakar for helping with soldering.
I then bought alumininum casing from Fry's and made the mod look like a standard astrocam.. Following is a sample video through this cam. I did not bother using the moon filter, hence you see the whitewash.. better videos to follow..
Clear skies to you :) Have fun watching the stars and galaxies ....
